I am 19, majoring in Fine Arts and Business at OPSU. Quite talkative easy to get along with. LOVE art. I set out to produce art that will really make the viewer experience some type of emotion. My art is mostly done with paint, whether it is acrylic or oil. I really enjoy the fact that certain colors trigger certain emotions. Most of my work is created using a very warm color-palette for the positive space and cool colors or sometimes even just compliment colors for the negative space. Even though most of my recent works are paintings, I also find playing with different types of mediums. Knowing the rules and breaking them sometimes help a gorgeous piece of artwork emerge. My art work is very stylized; it does not have a sort of “all over the place” feel to it. My current area of concentration is cups, all kinds of cups from coffee cups to wine glasses. I want the feeling of warmth and flavor to overfill the viewer, to give the audience the effect and the reaction, of “I really want some coffee right now”. I did not always know that I wanted to be an artist, I used to have the idea that I was going to become a successful surgeon, bur during school the class that really caught my attention was art. To me it seemed as if time would fly by in that class. My senior year in high school I had art three times a day. I absolutely love the feeling of “zoning out” while working on a piece. It not easy to just create a painting, or any form of art. It’s a long process that eventually evolves into an answer for an artist. I hope that my work speaks for its self. Everyone who views my art should be able to take something from it, even if it’s just a little piece. Viewers should be able to fall completely in love with a piece of art. I know that an art work of mine is finished when it looks the exact way that I need it to look, and it says the message that I am trying to portray in the best way possible.
